Smarty Ants/Achieve3000 and iReady Break Challenge (One Day Left)

We want to announce now that over fall break (September 20 – October 4) we will be offering a voluntary challenge to all of our students. Each student who completes the weekly reading (Smarty Ants or Achieve3000) AND math (iReady) goal over fall break will be entered into an opportunity drawing in which one student from each grade level (TK – 6th grade) will be randomly selected to receive $20 in Scholastic Bucks to use on the scholastic website. Below are the goals which must be met in order to be entered into the opportunity drawing:
Goal for TK Students
Smarty Ants – Use the program for a total of 150 (2 hours and 30 minutes) or more minutes
*TK students do not use iReady yet so they only need to complete the Smarty Ants goal to be eligible
Goal for Kinder – 2nd Grade Students
Smarty Ants – Use the program for a total of 150 (2 hours and 30 minutes) or more minutes
iReady – 90 (1 hour and 30 minutes) or more minutes on the program
*Second grade students using Achieve3000 can substitute the Smarty Ants goal (above) for the Achieve3000 goal (below)
Goal for 3rd – 6th Grade Students
Achieve3000 – Complete at least four activities with a score of 75% or better on the first attempt
iReady – 90 (1 hour and 30 minutes) or more minutes on the program
CVESD Mask Policy Reminder
The Chula Vista Elementary School Board revised the mask policy on August 25th at their Special Board Meeting. The mandate states:
- A properly positioned and correctly fitted mask must be worn at all campuses, including District offices, at all times, regardless of vaccination status.
- Adults may only remove masks when actively eating or drinking.
- Masks must be worn if anyone is around, students or staff, vaccinated or not. This includes parents/guardians who may be walking their students onto campus.
- Parents must wear a mask when on campus including in the parking lot and near our entry gates.
- Students may remove their masks only to play at recess/during PE and to eat, both of which should happen outdoors, weather permitting. Masks are required in hallways while traveling to and from the playground and lunch area.
Students will be required to wear a mask when they enter the campus, walk in the hallways, and wait in line in the morning.
