Clear View News – February 28 – March 4

COVID Updates

On Friday, our Superintendent Dr. Reyes announced that masking for staff and students will no longer be required while outdoors on campus. This policy will go into effect on Monday, February 28. Masking will still be required by all while indoors. Any student or staff member who feels more comfortable wearing a mask while outdoors at school is welcome to continue to do so.

COVID 19 NEWSLETTER – FEB 25 2022

COVID Clinic On-Site Weekly Testing Begins Tomorrow

Our free, “opt-in” testing program will begin on Monday, February 28th. Although this is not mandatory, we hope that families will choose to participate in this weekly testing opportunity.  *No child will be tested without parental consent in this program.

*It is important to understand that the consent for weekly testing on campus is the same as the COVID Clink KioskIf you have registered you child for a COVID test at the COVID Clinic kiosk, your child has been opted into weekly testing as well. If you previously gave consent for your child to participate or have previously registered them for a COVID test at the COVID Clinic kiosk and do not want your child to participate in weekly testing, please notify COVID Clinic directly via email at k12@covidclinic.org before Monday morning. Please be sure to state your name and your child’s name, as well as their school in that message.

If you still need the link to give consent, it can be found here: https://school.covidclinic.org/register. At this point, any consent given will go into effect beginning on the March 7.

We hope that you will consider opting in and participating in this weekly testing program.

Solar Project

CVESD has been in the process of installing solar panels at every school site. This week, the solar project will begin at Clear View. Our solar panels will be installed around the fence line on the playground which separates our blacktop from the upper and lower fields (as seen in the image below). The array will provide a lot of shade and will sit well above the ground allowing for movement and activity to occur under the panels once the project is completed. The project will take about 10 weeks.

Beginning on Monday, February 28, students in grades 1-3 will line up in the center courtyard in the morning before school. Students in grades 4-6 will continue to line up on the blacktop, but in a slightly different location. Please see the images below for a visual of where students will be lining up in the morning:

Adolescent Growth Education (AGE) Preview Meetings

The district is offering an additional opportunity to learn more about the Adolescent Growth Education (A.G.E.) for your child’s grade level. It will be the same information provided, as the first preview night. The 4th grade meeting is scheduled on March 3, 5th grade on March 1, and 6th grade on March 2. All meeting take place from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.

Please review the flyers provided below for meeting information for your child’s grade-level:

ELPAC Testing

Our 3rd -5th grade students who are second language learners of English will begin taking the ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California) this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.  A notification would have already gone out to you if your student is participating in this assessment.

San Diego Humane Society Donation Drive

Our student leaders are putting on a Humane Society Drive to help the organization make a life-changing difference for animals in need. Please join us in support of this student-led effort for a great cause!

Parent Conferences

Parent conferences will begin soon; be sure to sign-up for a conference with your child’s teachers to learn more about your child’s progress at school.

COVID Clinic Weekly Testing Begins Monday

Dear Clear View Families,

Our free, “opt-in” testing program will begin on Monday, February 28th, as part of our district’s efforts to keep our students and staff safe during the pandemic.  Although this is not mandatory, we hope that families will choose to participate in this weekly testing opportunity.  *No child will be tested without parental consent in this program.

*It is important to understand that the consent for weekly testing on campus is the same as the COVID Clink Kiosk. If you have registered you child for a COVID test at the COVID Clinic kiosk, your child has been opted into weekly testing as well.

Please double check that you have completed the registration process correctly and placed an order for your child to be tested. Once these two steps have been completed, there is no need to update this each week.

A few additional points:

  • Since these weekly tests are PCR, CVESD does not recommended testing for students (or staff) if they have been COVID positive in the last 90 days, as it may continue to show up positive on the results.
  • Weekly testing will be provided just outside the door of your child’s classroom by licensed and trained health care professionals.  The PCR test will be administered via nasal swab sample collection.
  • Weekly on site COVID-19 testing will continue every Monday as part of our district’s efforts to keep classrooms open and support our families with testing requirements for the state of California.

We hope that you will consider opting in and participating in this weekly testing program.

Have a great weekend,

Ray DeVore

Solar Panel Project at Clear View Beginning Soon

Hello Clear View Families,

Construction crews will be on our school’s campus soon to install solar panels near the fence line between the blacktop and grass areas on the playground (image below). This project creates the need for us to have a portion of our blacktop fenced off. The crew will be putting up the fence today and will begin construction on Monday, February 28. Construction will not impact pickup, drop off or parking. Students will still be able to access the grass field, play structure, and the portion of the blacktop that remains open during construction.

Beginning on Thursday, February 24, students in grades 1-3 will line up in the center courtyard in the morning before school. Students in grades 4-6 will continue to line up on the blacktop, but in a slightly different location. Please see the images below for a visual of where students will be lining up in the morning:

A few additional reminders regarding COVID-19 procedures:

  • Negative test results for students after a school exposure are now tracked by CVESD and must be reported by parent/guardian at this link: https://forms.office.com/r/uzEF13QrRE.
  • If your child tests positive for COVID, please report the positive case to the Clear View Office as soon as possible
  • If you have a COVID Positive Case in your home and need guidance on isolation/quarantine, please email covtest4@cvesd.org.
  • If your child is presenting any symptoms, please keep your child home and notify the school office
  • Masks continue to be required on campus for adults and students. All adults (including families and staff) must be masked at all times. The school will inform parents and staff if and when CDPH and/or the district change recommendations for K-12 schools.
  • Independent Study Contracts are available for students who have tested positive or who must isolate/quarantine. Contact the office or your child’s teacher to discuss the contract.

COVID Clinic

You should have received an email from Covid Clinic to sign up for weekly testing at school. The free, “opt-in” COVID-19 testing is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 28th, with planned weekly testing every Monday. If you still need the link to give consent, it can be found here: https://school.covidclinic.org/register. You will be asked for your student’s ID number; this is the 6-digit number they use to log in to all district programs (if you did not receive the email or need assistance, please contact k12@covidclinic.org). If you do not wish to consent to testing, all you need to do is refrain from completing the form.

We hope that you will choose to opt in and participate in this weekly testing program. No child will be tested without proper parental consent in this program.

If you previously gave consent for your child to participate and have changed your mind, please notify COVID Clinic directly via email at k12@covidclinic.org. Please be sure to state your name and your child’s name, as well as their school in that message.

Please note that the district does not want to test students and staff via this program who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days as they will likely test positive again via this PCR test. An at-home rapid or antigen test is a better option to use if you would like your child to return to school from an absence.
