Great First Week!
On behalf of the entire Clear View staff I would like to thank you for a great first week of school! Seeing our students back on campus was such an amazing experience. We are looking forward to fantastic school year!
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
We would like to share a few important reminders with you:
- Beginning on Monday, July 26, all grade levels (PreK – 6th) will follow their regular schedule. For students in kinder – 6th grade, school begins at 8:45 and ends at 3:07 Monday through Thursday; Friday is a minimum day with school beginning 8:45 and ending at 2:07.
- Students in grades 1-6 will be dropped off and picked up at the gates in front of the school. PreK, TK, and kinder students will be picked up and dropped off at the kinder gate (hand to hand).
- Siblings of kindergarten students should go to the kinder gate at dismissal to reunite with their kinder sibling for pickup
- Students in grades 1-6 will wait on the blacktop in the morning on their class’ line letter
- At dismissal, students in grades 1 and 2 will be brought to the front of the school by 3:02 to help reduce some of the foot traffic
- Pickup by car – please remain in your car at all times and pull forward as the line moves. It will be very helpful for us if you write your child’s name on a piece of paper and show it to our staff through the window as you approach the front of the line
- Pickup on foot – students will be brought to grass area in front of the school to wait for their parent. It would be helpful if you and your child designate a meeting spot in front of the school to help you connect with them as quickly as possible. We ask that the walkway near the office door remain clear so students can easily exit the school
School Site Council (SSC)
The Clear View School Site Council (SSC) is composed of five elected parent/community representatives, five elected staff/teacher representatives, and the site principal. The primary role of the SSC is to develop, approve, and monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement.
With a few exceptions, SSC meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month. Until it is safe to meet in person, our SSC meetings will be held virtually. All parents and staff are welcome to attend the meetings. Elected council members serve on the committee for two years.
At this time, we have three open parent/community representative positions for the 2020-21 school year. Please fill out the form linked below if you wish to nominate yourself and serve on the Clear View School Site Council.
The deadline to complete the form is 5:00pm on Friday, July 30th. Voting will take place during the week of August 2-6.
Health, Safety, and Attendance
It is essential that all stakeholders follow all district and school safety guidelines while at school.
- At this time EVERYONE is required to wear a mask when indoors during the school day. Students will not be required to wear masks outside.
- Please monitor and screen your child’s health before leaving home.
- If your child is presenting any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not send your child to school.
- If your child has a chronic health condition, such as allergies or asthma, please inform the school office.
- Here is the link to the current COVID-19 Decision Tree, which we will follow : Decision Tree
If your student is going to be absent from school, please contact our school Attendance Health Specialist, Ms. Maggie Martinez, at (619) 498-3000 or email her at margarita.martinez@cvesd.org.
Back to School Nights
This week we will send home information regarding our upcoming Back to School Nights, which will occur during the week of August 2-6.
