Attendance Matters

Our attendance goal for the 2023-24 school year is to average 96% daily attendance. So far this year our attendance has been 95.84%. Let’s finish the quarter strong and strive to meet our goal of 96%!

If your child is absent for any reason, please communicate the absence with Cecilia Johnson, our Attendance Secretary, via email at cecilia.johnson@cvesd.org or by phone at (619) 498-3000.

Traffic Reminders

Kinder Lot:

We understand the need for many families to park during arrival and dismissal in order to drop-off and/or pick-up their child. As you know, parking in the kinder lot is limited.

  • It is essential that everyone follows parking lot regulations and refrains from parking along red curbs, unmarked parking spots, and in the drop-off/pick-up area. This will allow traffic to flow quickly and student and families to safely enter and leave campus in this area.

We encourage the use of the Terra Nova Park parking lot or the surrounding neighborhood for families dropping off and picking up students hand to hand at the TK/Kinder area.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Loop In Front of the School:

  • Please pull to the curb for drop-off and pick-up to avoid having students walking near moving vehicles.
  • Continue to move as far forward as possible as you work your way through the line and pick up your child. This helps the line continue to move forward.
  • Do not park in the pick-up/drop-off zone or leave your car unattended in these areas to pick up your child.

Thank you for helping insuring your child comes to school on time each day.

Traffic Reminders

Hidden Vista Drive (Near Terra Nova Park) – Please remember that there is no parking in this area between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Your adherence to this protocol is critical in helping the the flow of traffic, especially during after school pickup.

Windrose Way (Crosswalk and Bus Zone) – We have been experiencing cars stopped and/or parked along the red curb near the crosswalk and in the bus zone during pickup and drop-off. In addition to impacting school buses, cars stopped in this area impact visibility, making crossing the street difficult and dangerous for students and families. Please use unmarked curbs west of this area for pickup and drop-off.

For the safety of our school community, it is important for everyone to follow these procedures at all times. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during our drop-off and dismissal time.

School Site Council (SSC)

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in being a parent/community representative on our SSC. The results of the election are in; Carolina Contreras and Maricela Munoz were elected to be representatives on the SSC.
