Red Ribbon Week

Clear View Elementary School will participate in a nationwide campaign entitled Red Ribbon Week. Our goal is to proactively create student awareness pertaining to problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. The national theme this year is “Drug Free Looks Like Me” This week is also a wonderful opportunity for your family to discuss issues like peer pressure and making the right choices for a healthy future.

We invite everyone to participate in our Red Ribbon Spirit Week (developed by our Student Lighthouse Team), where you can actively engage in a series of the fun, thematic days!

Program Usage Goals

We have two online programs to support students in their reading and math development/progress. Beginning this quarter, we will be monitoring the usage of the programs; the goal for each program is provided below. Students may access the programs from home to help reach or surpass the weekly usage goals. We encourage you to talk to your child about their program reading WIG and lead measures and discuss what can be done at home to support their reading progress.

  • Smarty Ants (K-2nd) – 15-20 on the program minutes each day (75 or more minutes)
  • Achieve3000 (3rd-6th)*– 2 activities at 75% or better (on the first try)
  • iReady (K-6th) – 45-60 minutes

*Some 2nd graders have begun to use Achieve3000

Safe Ingress and Egress

As you know, the safety of all during drop-off and pick up is a priority. It takes the whole school community following school and neighborhood safety procedures to ensure all students and families are safe when coming to and leaving school each day. Please drive slowly and safely through the parking lots, drop-off/pickup loop, when entering and exiting the school campus, and along Windrose Way in front of the school. We have many students and families who cross the street on Windrose Way where cars exit our campus. Please be attentive and observe the speed limit and all posted signs around our school. We thank you in advance for being patient and courteous and helping keep everyone safe.

Make Up Picture Day Postponed

Good afternoon Clear View Families,

We were just informed this afternoon that, unfortunately, Lifetouch is going to have to reschedule our Make Up Picture Day. Lifetouch is still processing the photos from our original picture day, which needs to be completed before they can return to for make ups. Make up picture day will be rescheduled with Lifetouch soon. We apologize for this last minute change of plan and appreciate you patience and understanding.
Lifetouch is currently working to finish processing the pictures taken on September 1 and getting packages to families as soon as possible.
Respectfully,
Ray DeVore

Drop Off and Pick Up Safety and Procedures

Safety is our priority and it takes the whole school community following school and neighborhood safety procedures to ensure all students and families are safe when coming to and leaving school each day. Please drive slowly and carefully through the parking lots, drop-off/pickup loop, when entering and exiting the school campus, and along Windrose Way in front of the school. We have many students and families who cross the street on Windrose Way where cars exit our campus. Please be attentive and observe the speed limit and all posted signs around our school. We thank you in advance for help in keeping everyone safe.

Please remember if you use our drop off and pick up zone in front of the school you need to stay in your car and continue to pull forward at all times. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in any of these areas. Additionally, please stay clear of all red zones in front of and near the school; not only does stopping in these zones impede the flow of traffic and present safety concerns, stopping in these areas can result in being ticketed. Additionally, remember that the staff parking lot is reserved for staff members and should only be accessed by non-staff members for the use of marked handicap parking spaces or for before or after school YMCA drop-off/pick-up.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during our drop-off and dismissal time.  We appreciate you modeling appropriate and courteous behavior for our Voyagers at all times.
