Welcome Back to the Fourth Quarter!

The Clear View staff is excited to welcome students and families back to school on Tuesday, April 2 for the start of the fourth and final quarter of the year. We hope that you and your loved ones had a fun and relaxing break. Tuesday, April 2 will be a minimum day for all TK – 6th grade students (8:45 – 2:07). We are looking forward to seeing you all back at school on Tuesday morning!

Attendance Matters

School attendance matters! As we begin the home stretch of the school year, consistent daily attendance will be critical for every student. This quarter is the final opportunity for student to receive instruction at their current grade level and demonstrate their mastery of grade level content on local and state assessments.  Let’s join together to support our student by ensuring they come to school on time and ready to learn every day.

Our daily attendance goal for the school year is 96% attendance. Over the first three quarters, we have had 95.15% daily attendance; last quarter our daily attendance was 94.87%.

Please continue to help us in our effort to increase daily attendance; we know positive attendance greatly benefits students’ education. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing students back on campus this week!

A Look Ahead: 2024-2025 School Year Calendar

The CVESD School Board recently adopted the calendar for the 2024-25 school year. Please review the new calendar; school days are highlighted in yellow. We encourage everyone to plan family trips/vacations during school breaks.

APEX Fun Run – PTA Fundraiser

APREX will be at Clear View throughout the next two weeks. The fundraiser officially begins on April 2 and will run through our Fun Run event on April 11. Please the see the flyer below about the event. More information will be disseminated throughout the fundraiser.

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight saving time 2024 begins today, Sunday, March 10. Don’t forget to move your clocks forward one hour. We hope you enjoy the extra hour of sunlight!

Attendance Matters

Being at school on time every day makes a difference! Our daily attendance goal for this year is 96% attendance. Last week our daily attendance was 95.44%. Congratulations to Sra. Guevara and Mrs. Vinland’s classes for having perfect attendance last week! Thank you for your support; we have been above 95% two weeks in a row. Let’s finish the quarter strong!

Spring Conferences

Spring Conferences will continue to run throughout this week.  Please make every effort to attend your scheduled conference to learn more about your child’s progress.

Please remember we will follow our minimum day schedule for the remainder of the quarter; students in grades TK – 6th grade will be dismissed at 2:07.

Quarter 4 LEAD Registration

Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you for your support with the book fair last week. It was a huge success! We surpassed our previous record in sales, which means we we got more books into the hands of our students. The book fair would not have been possible without the help of volunteers; we are grateful for every parent and student who donated their time to help. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Kate Bishop for organizing and working the event every day. We appreciate the energy, passion, and creativity she poured into making sure our spring book fair was amazing.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) Meeting

Our next ELAC meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 12th at 8:50 AM in the auditorium. If you are a parent of an English Language Learner, we highly encourage you to be part of our ELAC and attend our meetings. However, all parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our ELAC meetings. At this meeting we will share information about CAASPP testing and learn about Habit 4: Think Win-Win.

School Site Council (SSC) Meeting

Our next SSC meeting of the school year will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 3:30 pm via Microsoft Teams. All are welcome to attend. Please email Mr. DeVore at ray.devore@cvesd.org if you would like the link to join our meeting.

Spring Conferences

Spring Conferences begin on Thursday, March 7th and run through Thursday, March 14th.  Please make every effort to attend your scheduled conference to to learn more about your child’s progress.

Please remember we will follow our minimum day schedule during conference week; students in grades TK – 6th grade will be dismissed at 2:07 beginning on Thursday, March 7th.

Read Across America Spirit Week

The student lighthouse team will be hosting Read Across America at Clear View this week. Here is a summary of the events happening throughout the week:

Wednesday (3/6): Sports Jersey/Gear Day
Thursday (3/7): Pajama Day

Scholastic Book Fair

It’s that time again; the Scholastic Book Fair is here!

When: Monday, March 4 – Friday, March 8 (before school, during lunch, and after school)

Where: School Auditorium

We will also have a Family Literacy Night on Monday, March 4 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. This is a chance for students and families to listen to a variety of stories read aloud to them and have an opportunity to shop at the book fair.
