Clear View News – October 27 – 31

Attendance Matters

Positive school attendance is critical for each student. One of our attendance goals this year is to achieve an average of 96% daily attendance. We have gotten off to a great start toward reaching this end of year goal, however, last week our attendance dropped below 96% for the first time this quarter (95.38%). Let’s work together this week to get back on track toward meeting our goal.

Trunk or Treat Festival

We would like to thank the Clear View school community for supporting our recent PTA Trunk or Treat Festival on Friday night. This event was made possible by the generous donations of time and candy. Thank you to our PTA and Trunk or Treat Festival Committee members for organizing the event as well as all those who volunteered to decorate their car and pass out candy. It was a wonderful opportunity to socialize and enjoy a fun evening together as a school community.

Traffic Reminders

To ensure smooth traffic flow during drop-off and pick-up, and, most importantly, to ensure the safety of students and families, it is essential that everyone follows the protocol outlined below:

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Loop In Front of the School:

  • Please pull to the curb for drop-off and pick-up to avoid having students walking near moving vehicles.
  • Continue to move as far forward as possible as you work your way through the line and pick up your child. This helps the line continue to move forward.
  • Do not park in the pick-up/drop-off zone or leave your car unattended in these areas to pick up your child.

Windrose Way (Crosswalk and Bus Zone) – We have been experiencing cars stopped and/or parked along the red curb near the crosswalk and in the bus zone during pickup and drop-off. In addition to impacting school buses, cars stopped in this area impact visibility, making crossing the street difficult and dangerous for students and families. Please use unmarked curbs west of this area for pickup and drop-off.

Again, for the safety of our school community, it is important for everyone to follow these procedures at all times. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during our drop-off and dismissal time.

Attendance Matters

Positive school attendance is critical for each student. One of our attendance goals this year is to achieve an average of 96% daily attendance. We are off to a great start toward reaching this end of year goal; we finished the first quarter with an average of 96.24% daily attendance and have 96.52% attendance over the first two weeks of Quarter 2!

As the start of the cold and flu season nears, let’s work together to keep our students healthy and at school by reminding and reinforcing healthy practices such as frequent hand washing, not touching mouth, nose, and eyes, eating well, and getting plenty of sleep.

If your child is absent for any reason, please communicate the absence with Alejandra Diaz, our Attendance Secretary, via email at alejandra.diaz@cvesd.org or by phone at (619) 498-3000.

Let’s continue to prioritize positive attendance. Every day of school matters!

Make-Up Picture Day

For students who were absent when we took fall pictures on September 17, our make up picture day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22. Life Touch will be on campus in the morning on Wednesday to take the picture of any student who missed the first opportunity.
