Attendance Matters

During the month of December we have had 93.89% attendance. Our attendance rate for the school year up now has been 95.29%Our goal is to increase our average attendance to 96%.

Remember that consistent, on time attendance is critical for all students. Please make sure your child arrives to school before 8:45 am and is prepared for the day at school.

This month we have noticed an increased number of cold/flu and COVID cases. Let’s do our best to work together to keep our students healthy and at school for the next three weeks leading up to winter break.

If your child is absent for any reason, please communicate the absence with Cecilia Johnson, our Attendance Secretary, via email at cecilia.johnson@cvesd.org or by phone at (619) 498-3000.

Traffic Reminders

Kinder Lot:

We understand the need for many families to park during arrival and dismissal in order to drop-off and/or pick-up their child. As you know, parking in the kinder lot is limited.

  • It is essential that everyone follows parking lot regulations and refrains from parking along red curbs, unmarked parking spots, and in the drop-off/pick-up area. This will allow traffic to flow quickly and student and families to safely enter and leave campus in this area.

We encourage the use of the Terra Nova Park parking lot or the surrounding neighborhood for families dropping off and picking up students hand to hand at the TK/Kinder area.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Loop In Front of the School:

  • Please pull to the curb for drop-off and pick-up to avoid having students walking near moving vehicles.
  • Continue to move as far forward as possible as you work your way through the line and pick up your child. This helps the line continue to move forward.
  • Do not park in the pick-up/drop-off zone or leave your car unattended in these areas to pick up your child.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) Meeting

Our next ELAC meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 7 at 8:50 am in the auditorium. If you are a parent of an English Language Learner, we highly encourage you to be part of our ELAC and attend our meetings. However, all parents are welcome and encouraged to come to our ELAC meetings. Your participation matters!

Lost and Found

We have many items in our lost and found. Please take a moment to browse the lost and found this week for any of your child’s items. The lost and found will be available to review before and after school. After this week, we will be donating the items to those in need.

YMCA Annual Campaign

As you know, many students at Clear View Elementary participate in programs via the YMCA, including the DASH and Junior Academy programs housed at schools in our district. The YMCA is making a difference in our local community, whether it is by offering day camps to our students or swim lessons over the summer.

That is why we choose to support the YMCA not only with our time, but also in charitable giving. Please join our team today in making a gift to our local South Bay Family YMCA to support children, families, and seniors in our neighborhood.

You can make a donation to our school’s fundraising page in just seconds by clicking this link: https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/5119048

Every gift makes an incredible difference!
