Positive school attendance is critical for each student. At Clear View we have set the goal of 96% daily attendance for the year. So far this quarter, our average daily attendance is 96.26%. Safe Campus Protocol Begins February 2nd

We would like to provide information about the implementation of the Campus Access and Safety Board Policy (BP 3515.1) at Clear View. As you are aware, the purpose of this board policy is to ensure we are aware of who is on campus at all times, helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment.

To ensure a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal process, our school will follow the operational policy guidelines below when we officially begin implementation on Monday, February 2:

  • All parents/guardians entering campus before school will be required to sign in at the school office using the Raptor visitor management system and sign out when leaving campus.
    • Download and sign in to the Raptor app to ensure a smooth check-in process if you plan to enter campus (see link below).
  • After signing-in, parents/guardians may accompany their child to either the designated morning drop-off area or breakfast area.
  • Parents/guardians may stay with their child on campus until the first bell (8:40 AM), at which time they must exit campus.
  • At the end of the school day, the closed campus protocol for LEAD Club/Hub will be in effect for dismissal. All students will be dismissed through the designated gates for pickup by their parents or guardians.

Please be sure to read the attached documents carefully, as they include important details for each grade level, including arrival and dismissal procedures.

Welcome Back to the Third Quarter!

Happy New Year, Voyager Families! We are excited to welcome students, staff, and families back to school for the start of the third quarter on Tuesday, January 13. We hope that you and your loved ones had a fantastic and safe holiday season. Tuesday, January 13 is a minimum day for all TK – 6th grade students. We are looking forward to seeing you all back at school on Tuesday morning.

Attendance Matters

Positive school attendance is critical for each student. This school year we have set a goal of 96% daily attendance for the year. We are off to a fantastic start, finishing the first half of the year with an average of 96.50% daily attendance (+0.55% higher than last year)!

With the start of a new quarter, we encourage all families to recommit to putting practices and routines in place at home to ensure that your student is well rested and ready to attend school on time each day. Let’s help each student get off to a great start to the quarter by being at school and ready to learn every morning.

Attendance Shout-Outs

We would like to recognize and congratulate the following classes for having a daily attendance rate above 96% throughout the first semester: Ms. Lopez. Sra. Inzunza, Sr. Quezada, Sra. Morales, Mrs. May, Sra. Guevara, Ms. Phillips, Sra. Rivera, Sra. Quezada, Sra. Pena, Ms. Sicairos, Mr. Burns, Ms. Mendez, Mrs. Merghart, Mrs. Vinland, Sra. Yescas, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Geronimo, Sra. A Look Ahead: Spring Calendar

As we begin the second half of the school year, we enter the time of year where students solidify their learning of grade level content and demonstrate their understanding on state and local assessments. Please review the school calendar; school days are highlighted in yellow. Please plan your family vacations during school breaks.

Key breaks include:

  • Presidents Day Weekend – February 13 – 16
  • Spring Break: March 23 – April 3

CVESD Calendar 25-26

If you know in advance that your child will be missing one or more days of school, please communicate the absence with Alejandra Diaz, our Attendance Secretary, via email at alejandra.diaz@cvesd.org or by phone at (619) 498-3000 and inquire about an Independent Study Agreement (ISA) for your child.

Safe Campus Update

We want to ensure everyone is aware of the updates following the Chula Vista Elementary School District Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, during which revisions were made to the Campus Access and Safety Board Policy (BP 3515.1) which impacts school site procedures.

With the latest updates and an effort to ensure alignment with district guidance, we will be delaying the implementation of our revised Safe Campus plan until Monday, February 2, 2026. The adjustment allows us the time necessary to thoughtfully reorganize and restructure our arrival and dismissal procedures to fully align with the most recent Board Policy revision.

This pause in implementation supports our commitment to student safety, operational effectiveness, and a positive transition for families and staff, while allowing our team to collaborate with district partners and communicate clearly prior to our implementation.

We encourage all families to review the message (linked below) from our Superintendent, Dr. Reyes, which provides additional information regarding the policy updates.

Thank you for your continued partnership and flexibility as our team develops appropriate modifications to the new changes. Additional details will be shared as we approach the implementation date.

2025.12.18. Letter for CVESD Families and Staff

Traffic Reminders

We want to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during arrival and dismissal. As you know, we have many vehicles that access our parking lot and drop-off/pick-up areas each morning and afternoon.

General Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures:

  • Please pull to the curb for drop-off and pick-up to avoid having students walking near moving vehicles.
  • Continue to move as far forward as possible as you work your way through the line and pick up your child. This helps the line continue to move forward.
  • Please do not park in the pick-up/drop-off zone or leave your car unattended in these areas to pick up your child.
  • The bus zone (pictured here) is designated for buses only; please do not park in this area or double park in the bus zone.
  • We encourage families to walk or carpool to school whenever possible. This helps reduce the number of cars driving to campus daily.

Kinder Lot:

We understand the need for many families to park during arrival and dismissal in order to drop-off and/or pick-up their child. As you know, parking in the kinder lot is limited.

  • It is essential that everyone follows parking lot regulations and refrains from parking along red curbs, unmarked parking spots, and in the drop-off/pick-up area. This will allow traffic to flow quickly and student and families to safely enter and leave campus in this area.
  • We encourage the use of the Terra Nova Park parking lot or the surrounding neighborhood for families dropping off and picking up students hand to hand at the TK/Kinder area.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during our drop-off and dismissal time.  We also appreciate you modeling appropriate and courteous behavior for our Voyagers at all times.

Donuts & DeVore

You are invited to join us for Donuts & DeVore on Tuesday, January 20th at 8:50 am in the auditorium for an opportunity to socialize with other parents, enjoy a sweet treat, and hear from Mr. DeVore about what is happening at Clear View. See you on the 20th!
